SHS Speech Team Participates At 2012 Aquinas High School Speech Tourney
The SHS Speech Team traveled to David City on Saturday, Feb. 18th for the Aquinas High School Speech Tourney. Eight students were honored from Seward High at the tourney, including Hannah Moody and Siana Dyell-Champion in Duet-JV, Alyssa Sleight-Second Place in Persuasive Speaking- Varsity and Sixth Place in Informative Speaking-Varsity, Carl Heinicke-Seventh Place in Persuasive Speaking-Varsity, Josh George-Fourth Place in Extemporaneous Speaking-JV, Emily Siebrandt-Second Place in Informative Speaking-JV, Shelby Lewis-Second Place in Entertaining Speaking-JV, Hannah Moody, Siana Dyell, Alyssa Winterfeld, and Ian Hendricksen-Third Place in Drama Team-JV and Emily Thrailkill-Fourth Place-Poetry-JV. There were twelve schools in the day long contest. Elkhorn Mount Michael won the tourney.
Local students from Seward High participating in the contest included Zach Bruick, Carl Heinicke, Josh George, Hannah Moody, Lauren Shepherd, Emily Thrailkill, Alyssa Sleight, Alyssa Winterfeld, Shelby Lewis, Emily Siebrandt, Siana Dyell, Matt Wonderlich, Emma George and Ian Hendricksen.
Clark Kolterman serves as the Speech Coach for the SHS Speech Team.
Schools participating included Elkhorn Mount Michael, Louisville, Pius X, Fremont Archbishop Bergan, Howells, Dodge Public, Schuyler, Seward, Lincoln Lutheran, Columbus Scotus, Omaha Christian Academy, Scribner Snyder and Aquinas High of David City
