SHS SOFTBALL FIELD
SHS Softball fans:
The Lady Jays are playing their home games on the “lower” or east field of the 2-field complex this year. This is due to the fact that the City of Seward is currently working on some renovations to the “upper” or west field. The work is consisting of the following:
1) Repairing the waterhole that now exists in the left field area.
2) Moving in the permanent outfield fence to a high school depth.
3) Moving in the scoreboard along with the fence move.
4) There are also plans to do some renovation in the current dugouts.
All of this work takes time and can only be done during the fall months as the field is in almost constant use during the spring and summer months. Yes, there may be some inconvenience at times, but the reward will come next year when the "upper" or west field will be in much better condition.
Seward High School has a great working relationship with the Seward City Recreation Department as both entities share facilities throughout the year. Thank you to Steve Ferguson, Pat Sanley , Bob Core and all of the other City Recreation Department workers for their hard work in maintaining all of the fields.
