SHS Wins at Keep Nebraska Beautiful Conference-2010
The Seward High FFA and Seward High were recognized at the recent “Keep Nebraska Beautiful” Conference in Nebraska City at the Lied Conference Center. Representing the FFA was Officer-Vice President Brinson Chapp and representing FCCLA was Ashley Jensen. Clark Kolterman, SHS educator, also attended the event with the students.
The FFA was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence for their program of recycling large tin cans. They have recycled over 12,000 to date.
Seward High was also recognized with a Certificate of Excellence for their overall recycling program and involvement with the community recycling efforts.
The City of Seward won the top recycling and beautification award from “Keep Nebraska Beautiful” honoring the founder of the organization. The “Deannie Anderson Award” is presented to a community that demonstrates the best overall program and Seward was selected the recipient of the Anderson Award.
Overall, the representatives from Seward received seven awards at the conference.
