Beginning the last week of March and continuing through the end of April, all students in Nebraska, in grades 3-8 & 11, will be required to take the Nebraska State Reading test.  This test will be computer-based and will consist of two 60-minute sessions during this testing window.

We are busy preparing students for this test and helping them to become familiar with the testing format.  You can help!  If you would like to see a tutorial on how the testing interface works or some sample passages and questions, you may download them to your home computer by clicking here.  Once at the download site, simply click on the version that you need for your computer and the download will begin.

Having your student become more familiar with the testing process can only help them when it comes time for the actual test.

In the past, each school has utilized their own testing to measure student progress on the state standards.  Taking a computerized state test that is the same for all students across the state is new territory for all of us.  For more information on the differences between past methods and those used this year, you may download a brochure with additional information by clicking this link.

Thank you for your support and if you have any questions about the state testing or how to download the tutorial or sample questions for use at home, please contact Brad Best, our Director of Curriculum and Staff Development, at 643-2988 or brad.best@connectseward.org.
