The School District of Seward Board of Education held a study session as part of the regular board meeting February 8, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Discovery Center, Third Floor of the Middle School Building, located at 3rd and South Streets, Seward, Nebraska.
The President called the study session to order at 5:35 p.m. stating that the session had been preceded by advance publicized notice and was convened in open session.
On roll call all Board Members were present.
REMINDER OPEN MEETING LAW
The President reminded those in attendance that a copy of the open meetings act is posted on the west wall of the Discovery Center.
Dr. Barnes began the discussion regarding the Middle School Project. Marc Munford from Ameritas Investment Corporation was at the meeting to discuss a time frame on the election. He explained the cost savings of having an August election versus a November election.
Site selection for a new middle school is being assessed by the architects, The Clarke Enersen Partners. A special meeting will be held on February 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. to review their findings.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
