Seward High Speakers Compete in Leadership Speech Contest at Governor’s Mansion

Two Seward High Sophomores, Jaclyn Pennington and Shane Sloup participated in the National Management Association’s (NMA) annual Leadership Speech Contest on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Nebraska Governor’s Residence in Lincoln. Both students spoke on the topic of Leadership.
A breakfast preceded the event and was hosted by the NMA. Serving as the emcee for the event was Deb Collins.
Each student was required to write and prepare a speech dedicated to some aspect of leadership.
Jaclyn Pennington’s presentation placed third and Shane Sloup won fourth place in the contest. Along with a certificate of recognition, Jaclyn won a $100 savings bond with her third place honor.
They were accompanied by their sponsor and speech coach Clark Kolterman.
